Eligibility Requirement for Admission in Degree Courses

Admission for degree courses is mainly based upon one’s marks in the senior secondary examinations. One’s marks in one’s senior secondary examinations play a crucial role in admission for degree courses. In almost all the colleges / universities, the first factor which affects the admission for degree courses is the total aggregate of marks which one has scored in one’s senior secondary examinations.

Generally, for an admission for degree in well – known and well – reputed colleges / universities, a student is required to have scored a minimum of 45% marks in his / her senior secondary examinations. Apart from this, admission for degree also takes into consideration the student’s stream and subjects. For instance, for an admission for degree courses in the field of engineering, a student should have a background of subjects like, physics, chemistry and mathematics with no less than 45% marks in each of these subjects in one’s senior secondary examinations.

Admission Procedure

Almost every college / university’s process of admission for degree courses consists of three steps, namely, application, shortlisting and counselling.

• Application
Application is the first step in the process of admission for degree courses. It is the root of every admission. An admission cannot take place until and unless there isn’t any application.

• Shortlisting
Shortlisting is the second step in the process of admission for degree courses. After submitting an application, all the eligible candidates automatically get shortlisted. • Counselling
Counselling is the third and the last step in the process of admission for degree courses. It is a significant step, in which a student’s interests and capabilities are judged. It enables students to find out the right path to choose from the various options provided at a college.
