“Lateral Entry” refers to a process through which individuals with prior academic qualifications or work experience are admitted into a higher level of education or employment, bypassing some of the traditional entry requirements. In the context of education, lateral entry programs allow students to join a degree program at an advanced stage rather than starting from the beginning. 

  1. Higher Education: In higher education, lateral entry programs are commonly offered in technical and professional fields such as engineering, computer science, and management. Instead of completing the entire duration of a degree program, students with relevant diplomas or associate degrees can enter directly into the later stages of a bachelor’s degree program.
